After seeing the documentary about how Peace Day got started, I was inspired to contribute my piece (ha ha) to the puzzle. I created a PowerPoint presentation that drew on the work of George Lakoff and Mark Johnson’s book, Metaphors We Live By, to show how deeply embedded the violence-based metaphors are in our language. I give that presentation to groups who are interested in such things, including IONS community groups and Rotary clubs. Previously, I wrote The One That Is Both, a fascinating new book that takes readers on a spiritual adventure. I attended Bryn Mawr College, where I studied philosophy and psychology, and then pursued postgraduate study in philosophy and linguistics at the University of Chicago. Presently I am working as a freelance science editor, helping  with scientific and medical researchers on their grant proposals and journal articles. My hobbies include competitive sailboat racing and dancing Argentine tango. My mission in life is to have all people understand our profound connectedness, on many levels. To accomplish that I believe that it is necessary to take our everyday linear language to a broader bandwidth. My first novel, The One That Is Both, lays the conceptual groundwork for that project.
